view counts keep going higher and higher. this weekend was another new record for most people on the site. thank you all so much
comic studio is gonna go mainstream. i can feel it in my bones. we gotta make sure all the popular franchises are represented with as many studios as possible so that every good fandom can join in
one other thing.
i've noticed that there's a lot of text posts going around feeling scared/angry about "the drama", and. god i hate to be the one to say this-
99% of the drama posts are about the drama posts. if you want the drama to end, stop posting about it. simple as that!
some of you post like 20 times an hour and it's clear some of those thoughts just... don't need to be shared. i'm seeing some people against the studio helper feature because they saw someone having a panic attack over it, when in reality they're having a panic attack over other people freaking out, over like... 3 total posts about the studio helper feature. so, we're now left with 30 posts of people losing their mind over the problem and 3 posts actually about the problem, and it's only drama because of those 30 posts. so, the solution is to just not make those 30 posts
if you feel like you messed up, apologize and move on. otherwise, try to make a comic about something else, or close the tab if you need to
i gave the studio helper role to 3 people to help test whether everything worked or not, and one of those people was jackmoo101. i made the mistake of not telling him what to do, and as a result he started adding sprites to various studios without asking them for permission first. he has been demoted. i apologize
from now on, there will be a list of rules that studio helpers have to follow, and i will demote anyone who breaks them even once. there will also be a public log of their changes
lastly, i'd just like to clear up a few misunderstandings people have about the feature:
1. "allow studio helpers" was on by default for the 99% of studios that aren't popular and could use some help. i have since turned it off for all studios with 100+ comics
2. admins have already been able to do this since the site came out and there hasn't been any issues. this only happened because i didn't tell him what to do. again, that's on me
if you have any other questions, let me know in the comments
ok ok. this might sound a little insane. but hear me out
i was looking at wikia-- AHEM. fandom.com, and thinking about how a good wiki is so much easier to make than a good comic studio. i thought about why, and then realized it's because the most passionate members of a community can edit whatever wiki page they want
so i just realized. what if i made it so trusted members of the site (who have already proven theirselves by making several studios) could edit other people's studios to add new sprites/change the theme/etc?
it'd basically be the current power of admins, but instead of just deleting rule breaking studios they can also help out smaller ones. i could also make it so anyone can just turn off the ability for studio helpers (that's a good name. i'm calling them that) to edit their studios if they're worried about vandalism
what do you think about this. discuss in the comments
