a lot of people lately (especially after project sekai came out and brought a whole wave of new fans) have been talking about how vocaloid just isnt how it used to be, and i think its because vocaloid songs got too normal.

we forgot that robots singing is a really weird concept and stopped making songs about it. if you think about it a good chunk of classic vocaloid music is about the concept of vocaloid. miku or rin or kaito or whoever being a lifeless robot who helps people by giving them their voice.

apart from a few exceptions people dont make music like that anymore, but when they do the song is a banger. thanks for being lifeless, hero, digital girl.

its such a great concept to work off of and makes so many interesting songs, which by acknowledging they are vocaloid songs become part of vocaloid culture.

and something about the lyrics being written from the perspective of the vocaloid is just so appealing, to me at least. i love the whole concept of vocaloid and what it's become, and music about something i love= music i love.

there might also be something about the project diva pvs??? idk it might be a nostalgia thing but any song that was in project diva is a banger, also seeing the vocaloid sing the song makes it so much better.

just my opinion, but i think i might be onto something idk.
