It makes sense and I can understand Peppino here.
He was War Veteran when he was younger and all this caused him PTSD.

And whatever has to do with loud noises and lightnings, Peppino is afraid of them too because they remind him what he passed back in War!

All this situation was so stressful for him!~

Poor Peppino! He really deserves lots of support and cuddles!
