I remember hearing that Kuchisake Onna was unfaithful to her husband so he slit her mouth and said "Now who will thing you're pretty!?" and she bled to death. She came back as a Yokai and went after her husband, doing what he did to her and killing him. She then went on to ask anyone she came across, "Am I pretty?". If you say yes, she will remove the surgical mask she wears, revealing her slit moth and ask again, "Am I pretty?". I believe if you say yes she will kill you, if you say no(before or after she removes her mask)then she kills you with the scissors she carries. The way to distract her is either by throwing candies(said to prefer either butterscotch or peppermints)or say 'so-so'.
@yokai Oooh, yeah I remember hearing it off Snarl on YT and its the most common version I've heard but I'm american so I can't really discuss on this topic

@cesars_crackhouse if my research is correct, this version is very rare or unexisting in japan, so i picked the more common one in there
