Same, He could've been memorable cuz I SWEAR there was some line in the point of the story where DE got released- Hold on, let me look it up. Yea, "This is my fault! I should've stopped this. I'm not strong enough..." 12:40 in the video below.

They could've expanded on that, but to my recollection they haven't... A lot of his personality is SOLEY bravery and friendship, instead of those two traits being his core traits and he has other traits or moments to expand his character. A lot of his lines in stories are also VERY forgettable! I never see anyone talk about Gingerbrave or the other four.
The main five protagonists, Gingerbrave, Strawberry, Wizard, Chili Pepper, and Custard, got screwed over so badly. The only reason I remember them is because of little sprinkles of lore that shows they could be something great, and because they show up so often. (except Chili and Custard now.) It sucks!
